When I read the Providence Journal this morning, the article that most touched my heart was about the Westerly Volleyball and the Portsmouth Soccer teams recieving the Providence Journal/R.I. Interscholastic League Dick Reynolds Team Sportsmanship awards for the fall of 2008.
The main reason that this touched me so is that when my son Justin was playing baseball at http://www.livingston.org/lhs/site/default.asp, his team also won a similiar award. I can remember feeling so proud of all the players, coaches and parents, for it was a team effort that developed such capable and caring young men.
So, congratulations to everyone that had a hand in shaping the volleyball and soccer players into people we can honor and be proud of.
So, this blog is going to be about inspiration. When I see, hear, read or am told of the people, organizations, and events that make life better for everyone, something that inspires me or is just a nice story, I going to blog it. I am going to focus mostly on what happens around where I live and work, Westerly, the Rhode Island shoreline, South County and the eastern shore of Connecticut, but if I happen to find a little inspiration outside this area, you can bet I'll share it with you.
